Hardware FAQ

Do I have to buy hardware from Tixify?
No. You can rent hardware from us for the event, bring your own phones and tablets, or keep using the gates your venue already owns. We help you spec the right combination.
Does Tixify work with the turnstiles my venue already has?
Yes. Tixify integrates into existing venue infrastructure, including SKIDATA, Axess, and Fortress systems. Pedestal scanners plug into the turnstiles you already own, so access control runs on our platform without replacing your gates.
Can I use my own phones or tablets for scanning?
Yes. Scanning, box office, and top-ups run in the browser or in our apps on the phones and tablets you already own. BYOD support varies by workflow, so ask your account team about your specific setup.
What hardware do I need for RFID cashless payments?
Handheld scanners handle top-ups and payments on the floor, self-serve kiosks let attendees top up without staffing a counter, and walk-through gates read RFID wristbands on entry. What you actually need depends on your venue and crowd, and we spec the kit with you, including rental.
Is the hardware rugged enough for outdoor festivals?
Yes. The handheld scanners are rated against dust and water, the dedicated scan engines read tickets even in bright sun and rain, and the heavy-duty options work with gloves on.
How fast is scanning at the gate?
Ultra fast. Dedicated scan engines read even damaged screens in bright sun, and walk-through gates validate RFID wristbands as people pass, with capacity counted live per gate. The queue moves at walking pace, not scanning pace.
